Summary: She just needs him to open up and feel what she feels.
Pairing: Hector/Joyce
Song: Gorecki-Lamb

She clung to him tightly as the flames licked up into the sky and the heavens above, the heat surrounding them as the explosion calmed and the dust began to settle. He didn't move and his eyes didn't flicker open, he just lay there breathing shallow, the wounds on his face dripping of blood, creating small little rivers along his subtle features.
She looked down at him with a slight look of relief, her nightmare was over, no more was she to worry about the distance she took from the car, no more did she have to look over her shoulder for fear of Vincents henchmen. It was over and he was the reason why, he was the guy that kept her safe, kept her smiling when the chase got much, kept her warm when they drove through the cold nights. They weren't meant to get along and have cosy chats about their lives up to now, he wasn't supposed to protect her like crazy, it wasn't part of Vincents plans yet he broke the rules for her to ensure her safety. The whole point of his Job was to deliver a package safely and as far as he was concerned his package wasn't going to be somewhere safe by the time he delivered it.
She smiled softly to herself; all he wanted to do was protect her from the monster they encountered on the journey and every battle he fought along the way, would always result in him either coming out smiling or grumbling about a scuff mark on his shoe, yet here he was beneath her unaware that he had once again protected her by taking the brunt of the impact caused by the explosion. His arms rested limply on her back, he lay unconscious and unable to protect her if he was called on once more but she didn't care anymore, as far as she was concerned she was safe where she was. In his arms.

If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For Ive never known completeness
Like being here.

She rested her head softly on his chest and closed her eyes, listening to every light intake of breath he took, listening to every relaxed thud of his heart beat. She never had a man do all this just for her, just to keep her safe and protected. Most of the time the men she dated just wanted a quick fling, never cared about how she felt after it all. It's why she grew so cold, why she blanked him on the first few miles of the journey when all he wanted to do was get to know her, know what person he had set beside him in the passenger seat.
She regretted those first few miles, wishing she opened up to him at the start rather then wait till he was fighting off several henchmen that were pissed at him for not answering their boss's call. She felt bad for him then, watching him take a few blows and getting his shirt torn just so he could save her; she didn't feel she was worth saving, she didn't feel she was worth the punishment he took for her yet he did it anyway and she felt inclined to at least say hello to him then.
She sighed as she thought back to that moment, the moment he walked back over to the car straightening the collar on his shirt and readjusting his jacket, calm, unscathed and unnerved, it was then she knew she was in good hands but she didn't want to show it, didn't want him to cotton on and make such a big fuss from it all, not that he would be she didn't know that at the time. She just wished she said something earlier; yet she found her self smiling as she listened to him live, happy in the knowledge that he was okay, knowing that when he eventually comes round that was her moment to open up to him a whole lot more.

Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Still in my heart this moment
Or it might burst

A soft groan escaped his lips, his eyebrows tilting downwards into a pain stricken frown. She gently  lifted her head off his chest and watched him slowly bring himself round to reality, wincing slightly before catching her gaze, his earthy brown eyes meeting with her bright blue ones.
He gently pushed himself up and reached up to the deep gash above his left eyebrow, the blood trickling down the side of his face, the tiny rivers suddenly changing direction and yet he wasn't phased by it all, almost as if he was numb to the pain he must have been feeling. She gently placed her hand on his face and wiped the blood away with the sleeve of her jacket, gently feeling his subtle features as she held his gaze, watching his eyes quiz her every move. She raised her hand up to the gash and applied pressure, causing the numbness he had set in his mind fade away quickly then he had anticipated. He winced slightly and then gently removed her hand from his face; she looked back at him concerned, like he was almost rejecting her.
“I'll sort it.” He said, his voice sounding fed up, not convinced that everything they had gone through was over. She knew he'd been in situations where the bad guy would have one last trick up their sleeve; one trick proving fatal to someone he loved dearly that resulted to his coldness yet she knew deep down inside him he wasn't naturally a cold man, that inside of him was a part of him that wanted to be warm once more but he was afraid, Afraid to let it out once more.
He gently pushed her to one side and picked himself up off the ground, dusting himself down and muttering about his shirt being wrecked; it was stained in blood and was torn in some places but it could be easily replaced by another shirt he had in the boot of his car, one of many he had taken on the journey as a back up. He told her an old friend taught him to carry a few extra shirts with him and she knew why he followed that advice; she lost count the number of times he had to rip his shirts off in battles to use it as a weapon or because some ignorant goon spilled blood on him; yet here he was again, wondering off to the back of his car to change yet another shirt.
“You know, I'd hate to be your cleaner.” She chimed.
“I don't have a cleaner.” He replied in his cold tone.
She sighed as he carried on walking away from her, his back turned. She frowned, then picked herself off the floor and began following him; determined to get him to see exactly what his heroics done, what they all added up for her. She wanted to smash down that Ice wall he had put up around his heart and she didn't care how she would do it either.
“Look at least let me help you Hector. You can't patch up that gash by yourself.”
He grunted as he lifted up the boot lid to his car and pulled out another shirt; same colour and ironed professionally but she was adamant in getting her intentions across. She waited for him to begin unbuttoning his shirt once more and then pounced; pushing him into the boot of his car, he  quickly turned round and faced her.
“Sit!” She ordered.
“Make me” He growled
She gave him a coy smile and then pushed him so he ended up sitting in the boot of his car, his face disgruntled as she stood up to him.
“I'm patching you up. I don't care what you say on the subject either, there's no use you ripping off this shirt and putting on a new one if you're gonna end up bleeding on it.”
Hector just glared at her as she applied the steri strips to the gash, hating the way she overpowered him, hating the way she ordered him around and hating the way she was dominating over him now but then the glare turned into a grin and the hate started to turn into a liking; he could suddenly feel his coldness melting away, not sure what was going on or why he had a sudden change of heart towards her.
“Joyce-”
“One more strip Hector  and I won't hassle you again.”
“I don't care if you hassle me again.” he said a slight chuckle escaping his lips as she gently applied the last strip.
“I'm serious Hector. You can take me home and I won't bother you again.”
“Maybe I'd like you to come along and bother me again.”
She paused for a brief second and then suddenly felt herself being pulled down into the boot, everything moving too fast for her to comprehend what was going on. She blinked and suddenly found him above her, smiling flirtatiously  as his hand wandered down the left side of her neck.  She could feel herself giving in to him, slipping under his charming spell as he gently traced along her jawline with his index finger. She gazed up at him seductively while he studied her, letting her arms   slide up his neck and drape over his shoulders; he quickly flicked his eyes up to meet hers and caught her sultry gaze, watching her as she  gave in to him, this cold, unfeeling woman that sat beside him suddenly turning into one that wanted him badly.
She slowly raised herself up to him and leaned in, holding his gaze for a few seconds more before finally kissing him softly; the two locking lips and giving into the pent up desires they held back for so long on the treacherous journey they had been on together.
She didn't want this moment to end, knowing that inside she had met her ideal match.

Could we stay right here
Until the end of time until the earth stops turning
Wanna love you until the seas run dry
Ive found the one Ive waited for

Most of the men she had seen were only after one thing and that was it. Most of the time she would end up the next morning alone in bed after they had the one thing they wanted but for some reason he felt different to the other times. He never gave up on her when she refused to talk to him for an hour, he protected her and put his own life at risk, he overcame a few fears of his and he listened when she cried to go home. No other man she would meet would do that for her.
She wished she had met him sooner, wish he and her met back in high school where her troubles with men began; she knew she was pretty then, she knew she could have the men around her eat out of her hand if she wanted to and yet she prayed on that. She deliberately dolled herself up to get all the best looking men dribbling over her, just so she could get a buzz out of it. By the time she had left high school and got serious about life, the buzz wore off, she was getting fed up of being some glamour  piece on the quarter backs arm, fed up of being used in bets to make other men jealous. Those type of men were jerks but she kept up the act because she didn't think there was someone out there made for her. Until he came along. He came along and proved her wrong, proved to her that there was someone out there for her but he wasn't gonna make it easy for her to win him over easily. Somehow she found a way to get him. Somehow the two met up, obscure it may have been but fate had a twisted way of getting people together.
She realised now that she didn't need to tart herself up to get the attention of the men she liked, he had seen her in a state and yet he still had feelings for her, still had it in his heart to care for her no matter how bad she looked. Yet she ignored it, never added it up till they stood in front of each other with her bracelet buzzing, denying her to get any closer to him. That moment changed it all for her, she was blind to him before but after she realised just what them moments they shared added up to.

All this time Ive loved you
And never known your face
All this time Ive missed you
And searched this human race

She slowly slid her hands down from his neck to his chest, breaking away and gazing up with him with half lowered eyes. He stared back slightly bemused by her actions but reassured by the slight cheeky grin she had etched on her face; he raised a brow as he felt one of her hands gently resting  on his chest, her cheeky grin turning into a seductive teasing smile as she fiddled to undo a button on his shirt.
“I think you can swap shirts now.”  She purred seductively
“And since when did I need your permission to change shirts?” He replied, a smirk creeping on his lips.
“Since I became your travel buddy.”
“Buddy? Joyce you was a pain in the ass for the first hour.”
“ And all you was, was a sexual hindrance to me Hector.” She said with a sultry gaze.
She slowly continued to unbutton his shirt, allowing one hand to gently run down the centre of his chest , feeling every bit that took a few knocks while he fought to keep her safe. He had no marks or bruises but she still felt she needed to know the answers, why he done so much for a woman like her? She didn't think she was worth the hassle but for some reason he did it regardless. She raised her hand up to the wound above his eyebrow, the wound no longer seeping blood but it was still tender as he winced to her touch.
“Why?” She asked
“Why what?”
“Why did you protect me when you didn't know me? When at times you found me to be a pain in the ass. Why are you doing all this for someone like me?”
He gently removed her hand from the wound above his eyebrow and placed it on his chest, allowing her to feel his heart beat; he gently brushed aside her fringe to see her eyes clearly, her bright blue eyes gazing back at him, pleading with him to answer her question. He sighed softly and clasped his hand to hers.
“If my heart rate increased you know I'm lying okay?”
“Okay” She replied, gulping back a few tears as she could feel his heart, knowing that it held the key to all his emotions.
“All the beatings, All the near misses, all the shirts ruined, it was all done at first to keep you  alive but then all my emotions started playing up and every time I saved you I wanted to hold you in my arms and let you know you were safe with me. If I'm honest it's not a feeling I have felt for a long time. I've just been cold up to now.”
“So what changed............for you?”
“You coming into my life and not being allowed to walk seventy five feet away from my car. I dunno I just had this feeling I needed to protect you for as long as I was alive.”
She looked at him stunned, pulling back slightly as the words sunk into her head. Words she never heard come from a man's lips, most of the time the words she would here was “Hey sexy wanna come back to  my place?” but not this, this was new to her and had literally taken her back by surprise. He raised a brow concerned as he watched her eyes suddenly widen in shock and her hand gripping his chest slightly.
“What? Did my heart rate increase?”
She shook her head while her free arm draped round his neck, the two exchanging glances as she pulled herself up slightly, eyes half lowered, lips slightly parted as she gently stroked the side of his neck.
“Say it again. Say why you protected me.” She whispered, her voice seductive as she slowly fiddled with his collar, holding his gaze.
“I did it to protect you for as long as I lived.”
She sighed softly before locking lips with him, kissing him tenderly as she slowly dragged her hand down his neck and chest. She felt his arms gently wrap round her waist, no longer feeling cold, no longer feeling emotionless but calm, relaxed and united. She didn't want to let him go as she slid her hands inside his open shirt and held him close to her, feeling his heart beat against her chest softly. That soft beating was the sign she needed, to let her know he had dropped that icy forcefield around his heart and was letting her into his life, wanting to be that one person in her life that she needed.

Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs
Wanna stay right here
Until the end of time
till the earth stops turning
Gonna love you until the seas run dry
Ive found the one Ive waited for.

Slowly she slid her hands up his chest, placing them on his shoulders and then slowly sliding his shirt off his shoulders and down to his elbows. She then slowly slid her hands back up his muscular arms and rested them on his shoulders, gently breaking away from his kiss and flicking her eyes up at him. A soft smile appeared on his lips as he looked down and saw his shirt hanging round his elbows, restricting his movement slightly.
“You know.....anyone would think you was trying to tell me something.” He purred softly
She sighed slightly as it sunk in that their journey had come to an end, that they were no longer to venture together and get to know each other better. A tear rolled down her cheek, which caught his attention yet his smile still remained as he gently wiped it away with his thumb.
“What's up?”
“This is it.....Soon as you take me home I'll never see you again.........and all this, all these emotions will mean nothing.” She gulped back her tears as she stared up at him, her heart hurting as the reality set in; She may never see his face again or hear his laugh after saying a wise crack. This was the last stop.
“You know.................I don't have to take you home, in fact...... I don't want to take you home. “ He replied, his voice soft and honest. He gently put his hand on her face and stroked her cheek reassuringly. She looked at him questioningly.
“If I take you home I won't be happy..........because I can't protect you. So....change of direction. You're staying at mine.”
“But-” Her sentence was interrupted by him placing a finger on her lips, gazing at her as he could see the tears building up in her blue eyes.
“I lost someone a year ago, I loved them to bits yet I could not protect them. I don't want to make that same mistake again and loose you.”
Her heart beat that little bit faster as his earthy brown eyes gazed upon her, making her heart melt as he gently slid his hand down her neck, making her lean into his touch, eyes watery from the tears she had shed.
“What do you say? You don't even have to stay long if you don't wish-”
“I'll stay as long as you love me.”
A pause encountered the two as they stared at one another, she gently placed her hand on his and stared at him, hoping to here an answer, hoping it wasn't going to be the same one she got from most of the men she had dated. The usual “I'll think about it” and then them never getting back to her with an answer; that usually signaled it was over with her. This however meant a lot more to her, in the journey they had encountered, she had opened up to him more then with any other guy she had been with. To her he was no normal date, no normal person she had just met at a club or in a street, he had meant a lot more to her. Yes the circumstances could have been a lot better but the transporter guy that was once cold, somehow managed to crawl into her heart and leave a lasting impression on her.

All Ive known
All Ive done
All Ive felt was leading to this.

He looked back at her with eyes half lowered and kissed her softly, stroking her neck reassuringly and then breaking away from the kiss. He smiled softly as he glanced back at her, his earthy brown eyes causing her heart to melt once again.
“Sounds like we got ourselves a little deal then.”
He removed the shirt hanging round his elbows and slung it in the boot with them; her eyes lit up as she studied his form, knowing he must have put in a lot of hard work to keep in the shape he was in, a sight she could never grow tired of no matter how many times he would rip a shirt off in front of her. He stood in front of her, waiting for her to make a move as she looked up at him in a teasing manner.
A grin beckoned on his face as she picked herself up and stood before him, hands slowly making their way up his chest before finding them draped round his neck, blue eyes glancing up at him half lowered, a seductive smile sitting on her lips as she felt his arms wrap round her waist. She leaned into him, placing her chin on his shoulder and softly nuzzling his neck. She closed her eyes and smiled to herself as one hand wandered up to his neck, capturing his attention away from the setting sun. She quickly glanced up at him with a seductive smile, eyes half lowered and hand gently resting on his neck.
“I need you to remember one thing Mister transporter.” She purred in a seducing manner.
“What's that then?”
“You're my Transporter now.”
He took her face in his hand, she smiled as he leaned in and kissed her softly, letting her hold onto him tightly, letting her know he was hers for as long as she wanted him. He was now her Transporter.

Wanna stay right here
till the end of time till the earth stops turning
I'm gonna love you till the seas run dry
Ive found the one Ive waited for
The one Ive waited for
The one Ive waited for
